The Bodies Of 14 Inmates Of The Tangerang Prison Fire Victims Have Been Identified
JAKARTA - The Disaster Victim Identification (DVI) team has succeeded in identifying the bodies of 14 inmates who died in the deadly fire at the Class I prison in Tangerang. This number is the highest throughout the identification process.
"Today the DVI team managed to identify 14 victims", said Head of Public Information Bureau, Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Rusdi Hartono, to reporters, Wednesday, September 15.
Dozens of bodies identified were Andi Tubin (56), Marjuki (39), Chepy Hidayat (32), Jueni (28), Pajar Prio (40), Ajum (44), Doni Candra (38), Setiawan alias Iwan (37), and Hermawan (34).
Then, Muhammad Yusuf (43), Sugeng Cahyono (32), Mohammad Ilham (36), Kurniawan (28), Hengky Gunawan Tjong (35). They were all identified based on DNA testing.
"All of them were identified through DNA and medical records", said Rusdi.
With the addition of this number, the remaining two bodies have not been identified. They are Samuel Machado Nhavene and Bambang Guntara Wibisana.
"Physically, they have been identified, but once again, the DVI team still needs certain data to be more convincing", said Rusdi.

The Tangerang Class I prison caught fire on Wednesday, September 8, in the early hours of the morning. As a result, 44 inmates died due to the incident.
