Urged To Investigate Formula E Implementation In Jakarta, KPK: Distribute Officially

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has asked the public who have urged them to investigate allegations of corruption in the implementation of Formula E in DKI Jakarta, to report it officially through the facilities provided.

This was conveyed by Acting KPK Spokesperson for Enforcement, Ali Fikri, responding to the rampant demonstrations asking the anti-corruption commission to investigate the implementation of the car racing event.

"KPK encourages the submission of aspirations in the form of complaints of alleged corruption crimes through the KPK Public Complaints channel. This is important so that we can immediately check the validity and completeness of the initial information that was reported," Ali told reporters, Wednesday, September 15.

In addition, there is another way online through the KPK Whistleblower System (KWS) which can be accessed at http://kws.kpk.go.id. This method, continued Ali, can be used and is considered safer because it minimizes the risk of exposure to the identity of the reporter.

After all, during the current COVID-19 pandemic, people should not congregate. Thus, reporting through the two methods mentioned above is considered more effective.

Ali also emphasized that the KPK continues to appreciate those who continue to voice the eradication of corruption in the country. Moreover, the efforts made by the anti-corruption commission currently need support from all parties.

"KPK always appreciates those who continue to persistently voice their efforts to eradicate corruption in Indonesia. The efforts made by the KPK through the integration of prevention, prosecution and anti-corruption education functions need full support from all parties," he explained.

Previously, the Formula E polemic was raised again in the ratification of the Draft Regional Regulation (Raperda) concerning Accountability for Budget Implementation and Expenditure Revenue (P2APBD) for the 2020 budget year into a Regional Regulation (Perda) in the plenary meeting room of the DKI DPRD Building.

At that time, a number of members of the PDIP and PSI factions gave critical notes to the DKI Provincial Government. The executive who attended the plenary meeting was the Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta, Ahmad Riza Patria.

PDIP and PSI urge the DKI Provincial Government to complete recommendations on the findings of the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK), namely the revision of the feasibility study for Formula E.

In the previous feasibility study, the commitment fee and bank guarantee were not included in the expenses. Thus, anomalies in the calculation of income and expenses arise.
