The Drive In Concert Is The Only Show Allowed In Jakarta
JAKARTA - Music festivals and concerts are one of the many performances held in Indonesia. Not just entertainment, this show can improve the economy and tourism in this country. However, until the transitional PSBB period arrives, the ban on performances will still continue.
It's not that no shows are allowed, there are drive-in concerts as an alternative. This step has even been used in other countries such as the United States and Denmark.
According to Cucu Ahmad Kurnia as Head of the Tourism and Creative Economy (Parekraf) Office, currently the drive in concert is the only option allowed.
"So far only drive-in concerts are allowed," Cucu told VOI, Thursday, July 9.
A drive in concert is a concert where the audience is allowed to watch the show from inside their respective vehicles. This option is considered safe because it reduces interaction with one another.
Even though watching from inside the car, there are a number of safety rules that need to be done, such as wearing a mask, washing hands, and bringing your own hand sanitizer and prayer tools. A distance of 1 meter is also enforced between each other.
Not everyone can attend a drive in concert, children less than 9 years old and people over 60 years old are not allowed to attend shows like this.
For concerts that are held indoors, Cucu cannot answer when the indoor concert can be held. Currently, Parekraf is looking at the development of the COVID-19 case that has occurred in Jakarta. Moreover, the number of cases is increasing day by day.
"Indoor concerts are still not allowed. We are still seeing the development of the spread of the COVID-19 virus in Jakarta as a whole," said Cucu.
One of the promoters, Berlian Entertainment, began to adopt the regulation by holding the first drive in concert. Kahitna is said to be the first performer to confirm his presence.
Meanwhile, several concerts scheduled to hit Indonesia had to be postponed, such as the Hammersonic festival, We The Fest, as well as the single concerts of One Ok Rock, Lauv, Rex Orange County, and so on.
