CCTV Recorded, Motorcycle Thief Wears Koko Shirt To Fool Mosque Congregants

JAKARTA - A group of specialists in theft of motorbikes visited a mosque located on Jalan Randu I, RT 05/04, Kelapa Dua Wetan Village, Ciracas District, East Jakarta. They managed to overpower a motorcycle unit belonging to the Fajr prayer congregation who was parked in front of the Jami Al-Ikhlas Mosque.

The crime was caught on a CCTV camera in front of the mosque. In the action, the perpetrator wore a koko shirt to trick other residents when he was in action.

Based on information, the perpetrators visited the scene on Tuesday, September 14, at around 05.00 WIB. The perpetrator carried out the theft when the motorbike owner named Juhana was carrying out the Fajr prayer at the mosque.

According to Juhana, the incident only became known when he had finished praying and wanted to go home. Juhana was surprised when her motorbike was no longer in the early parking lot.

Juhana had time to look for the whereabouts of his motorbike in a number of alleys to the right and left of the mosque. But the motor is also not visible.

"Indeed, when the prayer was over, I heard the sound of a motorbike," he told reporters at the location, Tuesday, September 14.

Then Juhana asked DKM Jami Al-Ikhlas Mosque to open the CCTV at the location. After looking at the CCTV, it turned out that the perpetrators numbered three people using two motorbikes.

The perpetrator had previously passed in front of the mosque while observing the atmosphere. When stealing a motorbike, the perpetrator's face also often looks towards the inside of the mosque. The perpetrator initially wore a striped t-shirt when he stole a motorcycle.

"Then not long ago he went to his friend, came back again wearing a koko shirt but not buttoned," said Juhana.

The perpetrators finally took off with Juhana's 2016 Honda Beat motorcycle. After the incident, at around 07.00 WIB, Juhana reported to the Ciracas Police.

Juhana hopes that his motorbike can be found again because he is going to work.
