KPK Investigate Land Procurement For SMKN 7 Tangsel Related To Alleged Corruption At Banten Education And Culture Office
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is investigating the land acquisition process to build SMKN 7 South Tangerang. This was done in relation to allegations of corruption that occurred at the Banten Province Education and Culture Office in 2017.
The witnesses examined by investigators were civil servants of the Banten Provincial Government or the committee receiving the results of the work for the 2017 fiscal year, Endang Saprudin and Endang Suherman, who were honorary employees of the Banten Province Education and Culture Office or PPID staff.
The examination was held Monday, September 13 at the Class I Non-TPI Immigration Office, Serang, Banten.
"Witnesses were present and confirmed, among others, related to the process of land acquisition for the construction of SMKN 7 South Tangerang," Acting KPK Spokesperson for Enforcement Ali Fikri told reporters, Tuesday, September 14.
He said the anti-corruption commission was paying more attention to this case. Moreover, the alleged corruption is related to the education sector which is not only detrimental to the state but also social losses.
"We really need the support and participation of the community to jointly oversee and supervise the process of handling the case so that it can run smoothly and finish as expected," said Ali.
In an effort to expedite the investigation into this alleged homicide, investigators also summoned two witnesses again today, Tuesday, September 14 for questioning.
Those who were summoned were the Head of the General and Personnel Subdivision of the Banten Province Education and Culture Office for 2017-2019, Ganda Dodi Darmawan and the Executive Expenditure Treasurer of the Banten Province Education and Culture Office who has served from 2017 to the present, Meti Tunjung Sari.
However, Ali did not specify what investigators would investigate in the summons held at the Class I Immigration Office of Non-TPI Serang.
Previously, the KPK was investigating allegations of corruption at the Banten Province Education and Culture Office (Disdikbud). This riot is related to land acquisition to build SMKN 7 South Tangerang in 2017.
In the process, the KPK has conducted searches at the homes and offices of related parties in the Jakarta, South Tangerang, Serang, and Bogor areas on Tuesday, August 31 yesterday.
When the search was carried out, various items were found and secured which would later be used as evidence including documents, electronic goods and 2 cars.
Even though it has explained that there was a search, the KPK is still closed about the construction of this alleged corruption case and who has been named as a suspect. Later, information delivery and announcements of those involved will be made when arrests or detentions are made.
