Two Inmates Died In Hospital, Number Of Victims Of Tangerang Class I Prison Fire To 48 People

TANGERANG - Head of the Publication and Information Law Installation (HPI) at the Tangerang District Hospital, Hilwani, said the number of people killed in the fire incident at the Class I Correctional Institution (Lapas) Tangerang, Banten, increased by two. So now the total number is 48 people who died.

"I am informing you of an update on fire victims from the Tangerang Class I Prison. There were two additional people who died yesterday on September 13, and of the 10 being treated now, there are 3 more patients," Hilwani told reporters in Tangerang, Tuesday. 14 September.

Two inmates who were victims of the fire were identified with the initials M (44) and I (27) with burns from 20 percent to 98 percent.

"M died at 18.00 WIB and I died at around 19.00 WIB, both of them were undergoing treatment," he said.

Still, Hilwani said, currently the bodies of the two Tangerang prison inmates are still at the burial site belonging to the Tangerang Regency General Hospital (RSUD).

Until now, there are only three patients who are still undergoing treatment at the Tangerang District Hospital, with the initials N (34), Y (33) and S (35).

"And the remaining three patients being treated are Mr. Y, S, and N. These three patients are in relatively stable condition," he added.

He also mentioned, for patient S whose condition is improving and can even communicate and eat independently, the plan is to carry out a bone repositioning reduction internal fixation (ORIF) operation.

"For today's patient S, surgery will be done to reposition the broken bone in the left leg," he said.

Previously, it was known that the Tangerang District Hospital had treated 10 people who suffered serious and minor injuries from the victims of the Tangerang Class I prison fire.

Those who were treated suffered burns with conditions of 20 percent to 90 percent.
