Founder Guarantees KSP Indosurya Members Fund Will Be Returned

JAKARTA - The founder of the Indosurya Cipta Savings and Loan Cooperative (KSP), Henry Surya, ensures that the funds of the Indosurya KSP members are guaranteed safe, in line with the spirit of the proposed peace proposal. His direct presence at the Central Jakarta District Court in the continuation of the PKPU KSP Indosurya process confirmed this intention.

Juniver Girsang, Henry Surya's attorney, emphasized that the presence of his client is a strong signal if the founder of KSP is strongly committed to resolving peace. The peace meeting between the Indosurya management and the members themselves ran relatively conducive at the Central Jakarta District Court, Wednesday, July 8 yesterday.

Although the trial was colored by a number of questions from customers and conditions were tense, the peace process went smoothly.

"We see the enthusiasm of the debtor in the presence of Henry Surya. This commitment is evidenced by his direct presence at the peace meeting. Hopefully the proposals (for peace) can be accepted and immediately homologated (validate)," said Juniver in a statement received by VOI, Thursday, July 9.

To further convince members or customers, Henry himself admitted that he proposed PT Sun International Capital as a stand by guarantor for the payment of funds from KSP members. For the latter offer, Henry explained, the purpose of the corporate guarantee he was proposing.

Henry explained, if later KSP Indosurya was unable to return the funds that had to be paid or was in default, PT Sun International Capital would take over the maturing debt with convertible loans with the company's assets as collateral.

"Our priority is to ensure that customers or members can have their money returned," said Henry.

To note, PT Sun International Capital itself is a property arm of the Indosurya Group. This company is 99.9 percent owned by Henry Surya. The company owns property assets such as office buildings, strata title apartments and shophouses scattered throughout Indonesia.

At the trial, the management of the KSP Indosurya submitted an updated bid. Among other things, the management of the Indosurya Cooperative will shorten the tenor of the debtor's refund, in installments based on the amount of funds under management or Asset Under Management (AUM).

Then, for AUM up to Rp. 100 million, a Down Payment (DP) of 10 percent will be given to be paid in September 2020. The cooperative will also prioritize payments for creditors who are sick, elderly or who are in dire need of funds (very urgent condition). As the founder, Henry emphasized that he understood the members who were having difficulties.

"We have a proposal to set up a post for elderly members or customers, who are critically ill and who only have funds available to us. That is outside of the peace proposal. We will accelerate it. This is our good intention for people in need," he said. Henry.

Trouble in the Middle of a Pandemic

In a peace meeting at the Central Jakarta District Court, the majority of KSP Indosurya members / customers wanted their money back immediately. Most of them admit that they are in trouble, in a pandemic like now. Customers who attended, including the sick and the elderly, asked Indosurya for certainty regarding their payment of money.

Henry Surya and the management who attended the peace meeting, on the contrary, apologized to the customers. He hopes that the proposal can be a hope for calming the KSP members.

"We have prepared a peace proposal. This KSP has been running for 8 years, and is one of the largest cooperatives in Indonesia. The initial goal was to help micro and SME enterprises. It would be a shame if the Indosurya cooperative could no longer run," he explained.

Previously, a number of parties had also encouraged the settlement of the Indosurya KSP case to be carried out through the road of peace. The Indonesian Cooperative Council (Dekopin) emphasized that peace is a noble thing to do for the common interest of cooperatives and their members.

"We all have to be peaceful. But a reasonable peace, there is a guarantee, give hope to the members," said Deputy Chairman of the Indonesian Cooperative Council (Dekopin) Raliansen Saragih, responding to the intention of the KSP Indosurya management to submit a peace proposal with its members.

He hopes that the KSP Indosurya proposal can solve the current problem. He continued, referring to the constitution, the role and contribution of cooperatives, must obtain the widest possible support and protection.
