Basarnas Kendari Evacuates 2 Dead In Banda Sea Waters

KENDARI - The Kendari Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) will evacuate three people, two of whom died in the waters of the Banda Sea.

Head of Basarnas Kendari Aris Sofingi said that his party received the unfortunate information from one of the ship's owners named Sofyan at 18:05 WITA, Monday, September 13.

"We received information from Mr. Sofyan, the owner of KMN Fajar Mulia 77 who reported that the ship KMN Fajar Mulia 09 had found three victims around the eastern Banda Sea waters, one person survived and two people died," he said, quoted by Antara.

Based on the report, the Kendari Search and Rescue Office (KKP) rescue team was dispatched using KN. Pacitan SAR to evacuate the three victims.

"The Kendari KKP rescue team departed at 18.25 WITA," he said.

Basarnas said that the distance was about 123 nautical miles (NM) from the main wharf of Basarnas for the Eastern Region of Kendari with an estimated time of arrival at the location on September 14 at 03.25 WITA.

"The weather is rainy, wind speed is 2-18 knots, wave height is 1 - 1.5 meters. Thus, further developments will follow," said Aris Sofingi.

Until this news was published, the identities of the three victims and the causes or chronology were unknown, so that the three victims were found in the Banda Sea.
