Luhut Highlights Pangandaran Beach Is Full And Hotel Occupancy Rate Is High: Local Government Must Take Strict Action On PPKM Violators
JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan highlighted the full number of tourists visiting Pangandaran Beach, West Java. Even the hotel occupancy rate was called Luhut almost full.
"In some areas there has been a massive increase in mobility, especially in several tourist locations such as Pangandaran Beach which is filled with visitors from Greater Bandung, Tasikmalaya, and Jabodetabek, so there is the potential for the spread of imported cases to these areas. This is exacerbated by the weakness of the health protocols applied," Luhut said at a press conference, Monday, September 13.
This condition, including the almost full occupancy rate of hotels in the Pangandaran tourist area, emphasized that it was against the provisions governing hotel capacity.
"For this reason, the central government continues to encourage local governments to understand and monitor this condition and take firm action against all forms of neglect of regulations regarding PPKM," Luhut continued.
In addition, in his presentation, the government, according to Luhut, added the location of tourist attractions that may be opened in areas that apply PPKM Level 3. It is known that PPKM in Java-Bali has been extended for the next week.
"Adding the location of tourist attractions at the level that will be opened with strict procedures and the implementation of care and protection in level 3 cities," he said.
Luhut emphasized that the government implemented an odd-even system in tourist attractions that were already allowed to operate.
"The odd-even application will be applied to tourist areas starting Friday at 12.00 to Sunday at 18.00 WIB," said Luhut.
Every visitor who enters tourist attractions must have been vaccinated, by showing a COVID-19 vaccine certificate using the PeduliLindung application.
