Thursday, JCI Was Opened Up 0.19 Percent To The Level Of 5,085.93

JAKARTA - The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) opened higher on Thursday, July 9 trading. JCI was opened up 0.19 percent or 9.75 points to the level of 5,085.93.

Opening trades, 33 stocks rose, 17 stocks fell, and 28 stocks remained unchanged. The trading volume was recorded at 23.14 million shares and was transacted for Rp7.18 billion.

Reliance Sekuritas Indonesia analyst Lanjar Nafi assessed that JCI today will move higher with support in the range of 5,000-5,140 levels. However, technically, the index increase today is not expected to be as aggressive as yesterday.

"Furthermore, investors will focus on inflation data in China and the unemployment rate in the United States (US) as indicators of economic recovery," he said.

Selected stocks that can be examined technically include PT Aneka Tambang Tbk (ANTM), PT AKR Corporindo Tbk (AKRA), PT Bank Negara Indonesia Tbk (BBNI), PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia Tbk (BBRI), and PT Bank Mandiri Tbk (BMRI).

Lanjar also recommended shares of PT Ciputra Development Tbk (CTRA), PT Harum Energy Tbk (HRUM), PT Mitra Adiperkasa Tbk (MAPI), PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA), PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia Tbk (TLKM), and PT Wijaya Karya Tbk ( WIKA).

Likewise, Binaartha Sekuritas analyst, M. Nafan Aji, said that technically the JCI showed a positive signal. On the other hand, he said, there are indications of further strengthening in the JCI movement.

"IHSG has the first and second support at 4,975 and 4,865 levels, while the first and second resistance targets are at 5,097 and 5,172 positions," Nafan said.

Thus, he explained, the potential for further strengthening in the JCI today could be exploited by investors by buying shares of PT Estika Tata Tiara Tbk (BEEF), PT Gajah Tunggal Tbk (GJTL), PT Media Nusantara Citra Tbk (MNCN), and PT. Ramayan Lestari Sentosa Tbk (RALS).
