Matt Damon's Finstagram Finally Known By Netizens, Anagrams Are Easy To Track
JAKARTA - The actor "Jason Bourne" may have unwittingly opened the secret of his online identity which has been disguised for a long time.
Internet detectives think they've proven Matt Damon may not be as stealthy as he thought after reportedly discovering the 50-year-old Oscar-winning "secret" Instagram account soon after he announced his existence.
The online caper started moving after the "Good Will Hunting" star revealed in an in-depth GQ interview published Wednesday, September 8, that he runs a "very private Instagram account."
However, due to his reluctance to go public on social media, Damon says he only uses his Incognito profile otherwise known as "Finsta" among younger internet users. This is to watch his friends' kids grow up all over the world, and only occasionally to share his own posts.
"I have 76 followers and I've done 40 posts since 2013," said Damon, now dubbed the social media chameleon, before showing interviewer Chris Heath an Insta photo of his 15-year-old daughter, Isabella, holding up two middle fingers.
It didn't take long for Twitter detectives to announce that they had solved the case.
"I found Matt Damon's finsta and it honestly shouldn't take an hour," tweeted one of the inspectors, along with a screenshot of the profile whose name features a not-so-witty hidden anagram for "Matt Damon." Not to mention the number of followers and posts is exactly what the movie star mentioned in the interview.
Social media is also informed by the fact that the actor's claimed finstagram “Ford vs. Ferrari” was joined by several verified celebrities including actors Chris Hemsworth and Pedro Pascal as well as photographer and documentary director Sam Jones.
Let's just say that if this is the right thing to do, Damon's digital disguise isn't exactly what “Talented Mr. Ripley", a film he has starred in.

Meanwhile, Damon is not the first public figure to try to disguise himself on social media. Famous artists Gram ouflage and other famous figures such as former US President Barack Obama, Utah Senator Mitt Romney ("Pierre Delecto" on Twitter), and "Social Network" star Armie Hammer, have also done the same.
However representatives or agents for Damon did not respond to The Post's request for comment about the secret account.
