Papuan Police Guard The Use Of IDR 1.4 Trillion PON Funds

JAYAPURA - The Papuan Police Chief Inspector General Mathius Fakhiri stated that Papuan Police personnel are ready to oversee and assist the use of funds amounting to Rp1.4 trillion which will soon be lowered to finance various XX PON activities.

"We are ready to provide assistance and have met with various parties including the Attorney General's Office, BPKP, and BPK to provide assistance," said Inspector General Fakhiri in Jayapura, quoted by Antara, Sunday, September 12.

He said the assistance was carried out so that the budget management carried out by PB PON adheres to the principles and there are no violations.

According to the information from the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs and the Minister of Home Affairs who visited Papua last weekend, it is said that the funds are scheduled to be disbursed early next week.

The Papua Police Chief emphasized that the Direskrimsus and Direskrimum Papua Police personnel were ready to provide assistance.

Meanwhile, Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian in his press statement in Jayapura, Friday, September 10, explained that the Rp1.4 trillion fund would later be used for contingent accommodation, transportation and other detailed activities.

The proposal for the additional budget has been approved by President Joko Widodo and the process from the Kemenpora will be directly transferred to the province or PB PON.

However, said Tito Karnavian so that the funds are not misused, they will be accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Home Affairs regional finance, the Ministry of Finance's financial treasury, to the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP).

"A supervisory team will be formed consisting of the Kapolda and the Head of the local High Prosecutor's Office so that the Rp1.4 trillion fund does not get into trouble and does not get involved in legal problems in the future," said Tito Karnavian.
