Revealed, This Is The Cause Of MRT Service Interruptions
JAKARTA - The cause of the disruption to the Jakarta MRT operational services is already known. Based on the results of the investigation, the cause was an internal electrical failure.
"It was found that there was an internal electrical disturbance caused by a damage to the 20 kV cable connecting the Taman Sambas Substation with the Traction Substations in Cipete Raya (CPR) and Lebak Bulus (LBB)," said Plt. PT MRT Jakarta Corporate Secretary Division Head Ahmad Pratomo in his statement, Saturday, September 11.
Then, for the next stage, further investigations will be carried out regarding the condition of the electrical panels for traction substations. This investigation was carried out by deploying a special team.
"Involving an independent team to find out the cause of cable damage and comprehensive steps that need to be taken to improve electrical reliability," he said.
"To prevent similar incidents from happening again, MRT Jakarta will carry out a number of efforts to restore operations by increasing the reliability of the electricity system," continued Ahmad.
On the other hand, continued Ahmad, his party had made initial repairs. Thus, the MRT can return to normal operations.
"MRT Jakarta has investigated all electrical lines so that it is declared safe to operate serving passengers today, September 11, 2021, starting at 06.00 WIB this morning," he said.
But for the time being, there will be changes to the MRT operating time on September 11 and 12. This is done to speed up the overall repair.
"The temporary change in operating hours, which was originally up to 21.30 WIB to 19.00 WIB, with a 20-minute travel time between trains," said Ahmad.
Previously, it was reported that MRT Jakarta experienced operational disruptions since 13:41 WIB this afternoon. PT MRT Jakarta said the disruption occurred due to the power supply cut
