Insufficient Sanctions, Alleged Conspiracy Of Hollywings With Officials Must Be Investigated

JAKARTA - Holywings Kemang, South Jakarta was given a sanction to freeze its business license until the PPKM period ended. The sanctions were applied due to repeated violations of health protocols.

Gembong Warsono, chairman of the PDIP faction of the DPRD DKI, said that the action would not end there. The DKI Provincial Government must thoroughly investigate the factors that caused Holywings Kemang to continue to commit violations even though he had previously been given sanctions, including if there was a conspiracy.

"There is something that the DKI Provincial Government must investigate. Holywings Kemang has violated three times, and the principle of sanctions is to provide a deterrent effect. Why has Kolywings violated three times? This must be investigated first," said Gembong to VOI, Friday, September 10.

Gembong said, there were several possibilities of reckless repeated violations by the cafe where the young people hung out.

First, the management of Holywings is stubborn and doesn't care about the restrictions on activities imposed by the government. If this is true, then the sanctions applied could be more severe.

"If you say that businessmen are stubborn, don't just freeze them. Just revoke their business licenses because they are negligent or selfish and sacrifice many people for the transmission of COVID-19," said Gembong.

Second, Gembong suspects that Holywings Kemang may dare to commit repeated violations because they have a bad opinion with the authorities in Jakarta and the supervision of their apparatus is indeed weak.

"If there is a possibility of weak backing and supervision, this is our fault. If this is true, sanctions should not only be applied to entrepreneurs, but also officials or supervisors who violate them," he said.

The breach of health protocol at Holywings Kemang occurred on Saturday, September 4th. Initially, the sanction was in the form of temporarily closing the place of business for 3x24 hours since Sunday, September 5.

However, after the DKI Provincial Government evaluated the record of history of violating health protocols. Apparently, Holywings Kemang has committed three violations. Finally, the suspension of the business license was granted and the DKI Provincial Government imposed a fine of Rp. 50 million.
