Police Continue Investigation Of Alleged Cases Of The ITE Law, Regent Of Solok
PADANG - The West Sumatra Police are continuing their investigation into the alleged violation of the ITE Law by the Regent of Solok Regency Epyardi Asda in a WhatsApp group against Dodi Hendra.
The Director of the Special Criminal Investigation at the West Sumatra Police, Kombes Joko Sadono, said that the case was being investigated again after the mediation was not attended by the Regent of Solok.
"Yes, we are still continuing the investigation," he said, quoted by Antara, Friday, September 10.
Previously, the mediation was canceled because Epyardi Asda was not present on Tuesday, September 7. This mediation is carried out by the West Sumatra Regional Police as a form of application of restorative justice or restorative justice is the resolution of cases through mediation, dialogue or agreement of the parties.
The rules for the application of restorative justice are contained in Circular No. 2/II/2021, however, only the reporter, Dodi Hendra, attended the mediation.
Dodi is the chairman of the Solok Regency DPRD who was recommended by the Honorary Board (BK) to be dismissed.
Kombes Joko said the case would continue after mediation failed to take place.
"For the process, I ask that this process be continued," he said.
Previously, Dodi Hendra reported Epyardi Asda on July 9, 2021 with alleged violations of the ITE Law which Epyardi Asda allegedly committed.
Dodi's report was because Epyardi Asda was suspected of distributing a recorded video of a conversation that said he had been accused of collecting money in a WhatsApp group.
