Meeting With DPRD Leaders, Muslim Alliance Asks Residents Outside Sintang To Stop Provoking Ahmadiyah Cases

SINTANG - The DPRD of Sintang Regency, West Kalimantan, invites the local community to entrust the handling of the Indonesian Ahmadiyah Congregation (JAI) incident to the police.

This was conveyed by the Chairman of the Sintang Regency DPRD, Florensius Ronny when he received a statement of position from the Sintang Regency Muslim Alliance. He invited policy makers to make wise decisions on the problems that occurred in Sintang Regency.

"We invite to entrust the resolution of this problem to the West Kalimantan Provincial Government and the police (West Kalimantan Police)," said Florensius in Sintang as quoted by Antara, Friday, September 10.

Florence also hopes that similar incidents do not occur elsewhere. The people of Sintang Regency love peace and live in a pluralistic way. All tribes and religions coexisted well during this time.

"The Indonesian people should know this. Sintang has been fine with a pluralistic life. There has never been a conflict between communities, so the incident in Balai Harapan Village, Temunak District cannot be used as something to conclude that the Sintang people are intolerant," he said.

Representatives of the Sintang Islamic Community Alliance met the Chairman of the Sintang Regency DPRD, Florensius Ronny and the Deputy Chair of the Sintang Regency DPRD, Heri Jambri to deliver a statement regarding the JAI incident some time ago.

The contents of the statement are inviting the people of Sintang Regency to jointly maintain security, maintain peace and live tolerantly.

Alianis also appealed to all people outside Sintang Regency not to provoke or be provoked by the circulating issues. including fully entrusting the resolution of legal problems to the government and the police.

Spokesperson for the Sintang Islamic Community Alliance, Syahroni, stated that the resolution of legal issues for members of the Sintang Islamic Community Alliance who were detained by the police was fully entrusted to the West Kalimantan Governor and the West Kalimantan Regional Police Chief.

"For a long-term solution, we want the Ahmadiyah issue to be resolved immediately by the central government, not only at the district or provincial level," he said.
