Corruption Convict PD Baramarta Banjar, South Kalimantan Sentenced To 6 Years In Prison
BANJARMASIN - Teguh Imanullah was sentenced to 6 years in prison in the Baramarta Regional Company (PD) corruption case in Banjar Regency, South Kalimantan.
"The defendant was proven legally and convincingly to have committed a criminal act of corruption and sentenced him to 6 years in prison and a fine of Rp. 200 million, subsidiary to 2 months in prison," said Chief Justice Sutisna Sarasti when reading the verdict, quoted by Antara, Friday, September 10.
The defendant was also sentenced to pay compensation of Rp9.2 billion. If you can't pay, then the criminal sentence is increased for 3 years in prison.
When asked by the panel of judges for the verdict, Teguh Imanullah, who attended the virtual trial from Banjarmasin Prison, said he was thinking about it. Likewise, a member of the public prosecutor's team I Gusti Ngurah Anom also expressed a similar attitude.
It is known in his indictment, the public prosecutor demanded 9 years in prison and paid Rp9.2 billion in replacement money. The defendant was also fined Rp. 500 million, subsidiary of 5 months in prison.
Based on the answer from the Public Prosecutor, the panel of judges gave the next 7 days to take the next legal step.
The defendant's misappropriation of cash funds was carried out from 2017 to 2020 while he was still the President Director of PD Baramarta. The details are Rp1.27 billion in 2017, around Rp2.65 billion in 2018, around Rp3 billion in 2019 and around Rp2.2 billion in 2020 with a total of more than Rp9.2 billion.
