Moeldoko Denies Anti-Criticism, Reveals Reasons Behind Reporting ICW Researchers To The Criminal Investigation Department

JAKARTA - Presidential Chief of Staff (KSP) Moeldoko revealed the reasons behind reporting on the two commissioners of Indonesia Corruption Watch (ICW). One of them is that accusations of rent-seeking are considered to be private and will have an impact on the family.

"This has to do with personal issues that must be resolved. I have a wife and children who will be a burden to them. I don't want that," said Moeldoko to reporters, Friday, September 10.

Moeldoko said the accusation of rent-seeking was not a criticism. Because he is not anti-critic.

"No, Moeldoko has never been anti-critic," he said.

In fact, he gave an example during his tenure as KSP, there was always a listening program. This means that all parties who feel their performance is not good can provide input or criticism.

"There is a program, I KSP heard, I deliberately gave the opportunity for the community to come to KSP, we received it well. We gave a mic, please be angry. Because there may be communication blockages, I usually do. There is no problem," said Moeldoko.

Moeldoko officially reported Egi Primayoha and Miftah from Indonesia Corruption Watch (ICW) to the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police. The report relates to allegations of defamation regarding allegations of rent-seeking.

The decision to report the two IWC commissioners was because his patience had run out. Moeldoko has given a deadline for them to explain or clarify the allegations.

However, so far they have never done so. In fact, it does not show good faith.

Moeldoko's report is registered with the number LP/B/0541/IX/2021/SPKT/BARESKRIM POLRI dated September 10, 2021.
