Anies-Riza Different Voices About Sanctions For Holywing Kemang Cafe, PDIP: I Agree With The Deputy Governor

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan and DKI Jakarta Deputy Governor Ahmad Riza Patria have different perceptions regarding the time limit for sanctioning health protocol violations by Holywings Kemang.

Anies considers the suspension of Holywings Kemang's license to be carried out until the COVID-19 pandemic is over. Meanwhile, Riza views that the punishment given to the cafe is given until the PPKM period is over.

In response to this, the chairman of the PDIP faction of the DKI DPRD Gembong Warsono said that he was more in agreement with Riza's perception. Sanctions should be given until the PPKM is finished.

"I agree with what the Deputy Governor said," said Gembong when contacted by VOI, Friday, September 10.

Gembong argued that Holywings Kemang violated health protocol rules during the PPKM period, not a pandemic. Because, no one knows when the COVID-19 pandemic will end.

"That's right, he violated the implementation of PPKM because there are rules for implementing PPKM. In my opinion, the sanctions will be given until the end of PPKM. If the pandemic will last, we don't know," said Gembong. For information, Anies said that the sanction of freezing permits was given to Holywings Kemang until the pandemic is over. Because, they have endangered the fate of public health due to the potential transmission of COVID-19.

"We will not allow something like this to pass without a heavy hit. What are the sanctions? No surgery, period, until this pandemic is over. Why? Because you have shown that you have no responsibility for this issue," said Anies.

Meanwhile, Riza said otherwise. He saw that the sanctions were applied until the PPKM ended. This refers to the permit freezing sign posted by the Satpol PP in front of the Holywings Kemang building.

"Holywings are closed until PPKM is finished. If the pandemic can last for years, as long as PPKM is still ongoing. The writing on it is clear during PPKM," said Riza.

The breach of health protocol at Holywings Kemang occurred on Saturday, September 4th. Initially, the sanction was in the form of temporarily closing the place of business for 3x24 hours since Sunday, September 5.

However, after the DKI Provincial Government evaluated the record of history of violating health protocols. Apparently, Holywings Kemang has committed three violations. Finally, the suspension of the business license was granted and the DKI Provincial Government imposed a fine of Rp. 50 million.

This sanction was applied because Holywings Kemang allowed crowds of customers, violated the maximum capacity of 25 percent, and operated after 21.00 WIB.
