Commission III DPR RI Entering The KPK Detention Center: See The Atmosphere And Check The Visiting Procedure
JAKARTA - Commission III of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia stopped by at the detention center at the KPK's Red and White House after holding a joint hearing with the Supervisory Board and the KPK leadership. Chairman of Commission III of the DPR RI Herman Hery said they visited there because they wanted to know the form of the detention center up close.
He said, a number of members of Commission III DPR RI were curious about the facilities in it. Given the budget to build this detention center was approved by Commission III of the DPR RI.
"When we made the facility, our budget agreed. In that function we also want to see what kind of results," said Herman after a visit to the remand center at the KPK's Red and White House, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Tuesday, July 7.
In addition to wanting to know how the KPK detention center is, Herman said that Commission III of the DPR RI also wanted to know the procedure for entering the KPK detention center as a visitor or as its main detainee during the current COVID-19 pandemic.
"It should be remembered that we do not meet other prisoners and there is no interest in meeting prisoners," he said.
"So our arrival is only to see the condition of the KPK, what kind of detention room is, what kind of reinforcement is needed by the KPK," he added.
Previously reported, Commission III DPR RI held a closed hearing with the Supervisory Board and KPK leadership outside the DPR building.
Herman emphasized that there was nothing special about the presence of Commission III to the KPK. Because according to the MD3 Law, the DPR RI may hold meetings inside or outside the DPR RI Building.
"We can come to our work partners' places. Like yesterday, the law enforcement committee came to Bareskrim, to the Attorney General's Office. I think (RDP in the KPK, red) is normal," he concluded.
