The Deputy Governor Of DKI Didn't Know There Was A Family Report Of The Booster Vaccinated Official
JAKARTA - Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta, Ahmad Riza Patria, admitted that he was not aware of reports of family officials and officials receiving the third dose of vaccination (booster). This report was previously published by the LaporCovid-19 coalition.
"I don't know yet. Please recheck the truth," said Riza at DKI City Hall, Central Jakarta, Thursday, September 9.
Riza emphasized that currently booster vaccination is still being carried out specifically for health workers. However, he said, the government plans to provide paid booster vaccinations for the general public which will be carried out by the private sector.
"I think the central government will issue a policy on boosters later. We'll just have to wait. Do you have to pay, private property, hospitals or designated places, go ahead later," he said.
Riza said that the government is currently only able to cover the first and second doses of COVID-19 vaccination. Meanwhile, for additional protection such as booster vaccination which will be provided later, the public can get it by paying.
"People who want a booster feel more secure, but do they have to pay for everything from the government? The government's money has run out," said Riza.
"The government provides aid in doses of one and two. If you want the third and so on, I think the government must be wise, there is a lot to be financed. Development, welfare, justice need all costs," he continued.
Previously, LaporCovid-19 received reports from residents about the existence of a third dose of vaccination (booster) for the families of elite officials and officers in a private office in Jakarta.
Based on an invitation reported by an anonymous citizen to LaporCovid-19, this COVID-19 booster vaccination uses the Moderna type.
"Today we received a report of a third vaccine booster for the family of officials and officers at a private office in Jakarta, on Jalan Sudirman. Interestingly, the information should not be disseminated to other people," said Co-Initiator of LaporCovid-19 Ahmad Arif on Wednesday, September 8th.
Arif regretted the deviation of the third dose of vaccination for the public other than health workers. This is because the vaccine distribution is not evenly distributed throughout the region.
In fact, he said, many residents in the area and in the village who want to get a vaccine injection. However, vaccine stocks in the area are often empty.
"There is a process of using the third dose of vaccine secretly for the elite. On the other hand, people outside Java, in the regions, are having a very difficult time getting the vaccine," said Arif.
