Azas Tigor Asks The Saber Extortion Team To Take Strict Action On The DKI Transportation Agency Persons Who Extorted The Bus Driver
JAKARTA - Chairman of the Jakarta City Citizens Forum (Fakta) Azas Tigor Nainggolan assessed that the disciplinary sanctions imposed on two DKI Jakarta Transportation Service officers who carried out illegal levies on bus drivers carrying vaccination groups were deemed insufficient.
"We ask the Governor of DKI Jakarta to fire the two officers of the Jakarta Transportation Service who are extorting or extorting money," said Azas, Thursday, September 9.
The sanctions imposed by the Central Jakarta Sub-dept. of Transportation for the two officers were delaying promotions for one year, cutting the regional performance allowance (TKD) by 30% for 9 months, and being transferred to a place of duty that did not have direct contact with the community.
Azas assessed that the sanctions were relatively light compared to the actions that had been carried out by the two officers. He considered the two officers deserved to be fired.
In addition, Azas also asked the police to further investigate the extortion committed by the two officers. He said the police could arrest the two officers under Article 368 paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code concerning extortion.
Azas also asked the Illegal Sweeping Sweeping Task Force (Satgas Saber Pungli) which was formed by the government to criminalize extortionists in ministries/agencies as well as local governments. This is in accordance with Article 423 of the Criminal Code.
"We ask the police to arrest and examine the two officers for committing a criminal act of extortion and we also ask the Saber Extortion Team to arrest and examine them for committing a criminal act of extortion," he said.
Previously, it was reported that a bus containing a group of poor people who were going to participate in the vaccine was intercepted by Jakarta Transportation Agency officers in front of ITC Cempaka Mas, Central Jakarta. The group was about to be vaccinated at the Sheraton Media Hotel, Jalan Gunung Sahari, Sawah Besar. According to Azas Tigor, the group of vaccination participants was blackmailed by two Dishub officers who intercepted it.
