Hard! Denny Siregar Accuses Ex FPI Cadre Of Provocateur, Burns Anger Of Sintang Residents In Ahmadiyah Mosque Case
JAKARTA - Social media activist Denny Siregar named former members of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) as the main provocateur behind the burning of a mosque belonging to the Ahmadiyah congregation in Sintang, West Kalimantan (West Kalimantan).
This is known to Denny because he has visited the location of the case directly and met with trusted sources.
Denny said the construction of the Ahmadiyya congregation mosque is a long-standing problem in Sintang. Residents refused because the building did not have a building permit. Unfortunately, the axis of this problem is not resolved properly so that the gap for conflict is wide open.
"And this gap is continuously being burned by the religious-clad alliance whose leaders are former FPI cadres, mass organizations that were dissolved by the government yesterday. FPI may be dissolved but the spirit of radicalism is still in the chests of some people," said Denny as quoted by VOI from CokroTV's Youtube channel. , Thursday, September 9th.
Departing from this old problem, former FPI cadres then provoked residents to destroy the congregation's mosque.
"Because the problem of building places of worship was not finished, finally the former FPI leaders provoked the community around the time of Friday prayers, burned hundreds of people's places of worship and then moved with anger and hatred because they were provoked by Kadrun," explained Denny.
Fortunately, the West Kalimantan Police acted quickly and appropriately in dealing with this conflict. Residents' anger and the potential for conflict to spread throughout Sintang can be quelled quickly. The police, assisted by the TNI, immediately rushed to the location.
The order of the West Kalimantan Police Chief, said Denny, was clear and firm. Not a single life of the Ahmadiyya congregation should be lost because of this incident. The joint officers then formed a fort and protected the Ahmadiyah residents who were in the location.
The anger of the residents and the leaders of the banned FPI mass organizations were handled well using the 'flowing water' strategy.
"The anger of hundreds of people being provoked is channeled into the Ahmadiyah Mosque which has not been used for a long time by first being emptied. So it's not that the police are not doing anything, the police are actually preventing a bigger riot,"
"It is permissible to burn mosques because they can be rebuilt, but the souls of Ahmadiyah residents cannot be bought and it can be said that the police operation was successful because there were no fatalities," explained Denny.
