Imitating PeduliLindungi.id Site, Kemenkominfo Disconnects Access To Pedulilindungia.com Site
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Communication and Information (Kemenkominfo) has cut off access to the Pedulilindungia.com website. This termination was carried out because this site imitated the government-owned CareLindung.id site.
"The Ministry of Communications and Informatics has cut off access to the caringndungia.com website which uses logo, image, and display attributes resembling the caringlindungi.id website," said Ministry of Communications and Informatics spokesman Dedy Permadi in a written statement to reporters, Thursday, September 9.
He emphasized that the carelindungia.com site is not a government-owned site and is not related to the handling of COVID-19 in the country. Thus, the available information cannot be accounted for.
"The caringlindungia.com site is a fake site and not a site used by the government to handle COVID-19," said Dedy.
The use of the Pedulilindungi website and application, continued Dedy, is a health surveillance effort in accordance with the Minister of Communication and Information Decree Number 171 of 2020 concerning the Determination of the Care for Protection Application in the Context of Implementing Health Surveillance for Handling Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) and its amendments.
Dedy also appealed to the public to always be aware of disinformation as well as fake sites and applications in the name of PeduliLindung.
