Sad News From The Padang Prison, One Prisoner Died By Hanging Himself After Losing His Sense Of Smell

PADANG - A detainee at the Class II B State Detention Center in Padang, West Sumatra (West Sumatra), was found dead by hanging himself on Wednesday, September 8, at around 19.50 WIB.

The inmates identified as Fadli are known to be still in court custody and have not yet been sentenced.

"This incident was discovered when officers carried out routine patrols to check the surroundings, that's when the person in question was found," said Head of the Correctional Division of the West Sumatra Ministry of Law and Human Rights, Ali Syah Bana, in Padang, as reported by Antara, Thursday, September 9.

The inmates who stumbled upon the case of violent theft were reported to have hanged themselves using trousers. He was found hanging in a deserted clinic environment.

Ali said his party immediately coordinated with the police after learning about the incident. The police and staff took the inmates to the hospital and they were declared dead.

Ali said that initially on September 7, 2021, the inmates reported a loss of smell and taste in food to the Padang Rutan clinic.

He then underwent a medical examination by a doctor and underwent a COVID-19 antigen test with a negative result.

It's just that on Wednesday night the inmates were found hanged by officers, and declared dead. On the evening of Wednesday, September 8, after the incident, the police from the Koto Tangah Sector Police came and checked the scene.

Based on the report, it is known that the inmate died purely by hanging himself. The victim's family has been notified of the incident.
