HiAce Travel Car Thief Arrested By Police In Banyuwangi Turns Mental Disorder
BANYUWANGI - The perpetrator of the Toyota HiAce travel car thief who was arrested by the police in Banyuwangi, East Java, turned out to be a person with a mental disorder.
This was revealed when the police conducted an interrogation of the perpetrator. The perpetrator just screamed and was unable to give any answer.
When they arrived at the Wongsorejo Police Headquarters, the family also provided information that the perpetrator had suffered from a mental disorder for a long time and had been treated in a mental hospital.
The Wongsorejo Police Chief through the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit Aiptu Bambang Sumantri said the condition of the perpetrator was known by the HiAce car driver who was then taken away by the US perpetrators. Because at that time the perpetrator was a passenger of travel transportation from Bali to Surabaya.
"Previously, the family in Bali had entrusted the US to the driver and informed the driver that the US was suffering from a mental disorder. The driver agreed and then brought the US to Sidoarjo," he said, Thursday 9 September.
While on the ferry, said Aiptu Bambang, the US also acted. AS suddenly took a shower and then took off all his clothes to make other travel passengers uncomfortable.
Arriving in the Galekan area, Wongsorejo District, the travel car stopped at a restaurant. At that time the driver deliberately did not turn off the engine to make sure the air conditioner was still on.
“Suddenly the US got in the car and stepped on the gas. The other passengers fled. Until the US finally drove the car alone, the vehicle was gassed at a rather decent speed but the gears remained in position one. Until then, upon arrival in the Banyuputih area, the US was successfully intercepted and secured by local police colleagues," he said.
