Update On COVID-19 As Of July 7: 9 Provinces With High Recovery Rates

JAKARTA - Government spokesman for the handling of COVID-19 Achmad Yurianto (Yuri) explained that there were an additional 1,268 confirmed positive cases on Tuesday, 7 July at 12.00 WIB. In total, there were 66,226 positive cases.

Meanwhile, 70 patients died, bringing it to 3,241 patients. There were also 814 patients recovered, bringing the total to 29,919 patients.

Furthermore, Yuri said, there were 9 provinces with cured cases that had reached more than 80 percent of the total cases.

"The provinces are Riau, West Kalimantan, Southeast Sulawesi, East Kalimantan, Riau Islands, Gorontalo, Yogyakarta, West Sumatra, and Bangka Belitung," said Yuri at Graha BNPB, East Jakarta, Tuesday, July 7.

Then, Bali has 40 new cases but 60 recovered, Papua has only 30 new cases, but 35 recovered cases, Maluku has 26 new cases but 33 recovered, East Kalimantan 6 new cases but 16 recovered, West Sumatra 3 cases only 10 recovered, Southeast Sulawesi had 3 new cases but 11 recovered, and Aceh 1 new case but 2 recovered.

"This illustration shows that cases of recovery will continue to increase from time to time," said Yuri.

Meanwhile, the province with the highest number of new cases today is East Java with 280 new cases. East Java has also become the province with the highest total accumulation of cases, namely 14,601 cases.

Then, another province with high new cases was in South Sulawesi with 218 cases and a total of 6,192 cases. Then, DKI Jakarta with 190 new cases and 12,857 total cases, Central Java with 140 new cases and a total of 4,878 cases, and West Java with 79 new cases and a total of 3,779 cases.

Of the 34 provinces that reported, 19 provinces reported new cases under 10. Of these, 5 of them reported that today there were no new cases added.

"Provinces that report no new cases are North Kalimantan, Riau Islands, Central Sulawesi, Lampung and East Nusa Tenggara," he said.

Furthermore, the total number of specimens that had been examined was accumulatively as many as 946,054. In detail, 922,478 specimens were examined using real time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and 23,576 specimens were examined using molecular rapid test (TCM).

This examination was carried out in 144 active RT-PCR laboratories, 114 TCM laboratories, and 291 network laboratories. The rate of positive cases was 11.8 percent of all examinations conducted.
