Medan Mayor Bobby Nasution Speeds Up Micro COVID-19 Vaccination, Pursues Target Of 1.9 Million Citizens Vaccination
MEDAN - Medan Mayor Bobby Nasution hopes that the target of 1.9 million of the 2.5 million residents of Medan City to get the COVID-19 vaccine injection can be realized.
Currently Pemko Medan continues to massively carry out vaccinations in order to achieve this target. However, these efforts encountered obstacles because the availability of vaccines was not as desired.
If the vaccine is sufficient, Bobby Nasution is optimistic that he will be able to realize the target. Including, approaching the target that has been conveyed by President Joko Widodo.
"With the doses that we have not received at the moment, the implementation of the vaccine is a bit constrained from the targets we have set," said Bobby Nasution when inaugurating the Indonesian Vaccination Center Bangkit at the Medan Selayang Subdistrict Office, Jalan Bunga Cempaka, Medan, Wednesday, September 8.
Bobby Nasution said that the implementation of vaccinations in the city of Medan, which had been held on a large scale, had now been changed to a micro scheme to prevent crowds that were prone to triggering the spread of COVID-19. Therefore, said Bobby, the implementation of micro-vaccination will be carried out in sub-districts, sub-districts and health centers.
Quoted from a written statement from the Medan Kominfo Service, micro vaccinations were carried out in 41 health facilities (faskes) in the form of health centers. Even though the Medan City Government still has 39 more health facilities in the form of auxiliary health centers (pustu). If the maximum dose of vaccine received, he explained, of course 39 health facilities could be used to carry out micro-vaccination.
Bobby Nasution expressed his gratitude to XL Axiata for holding the Bangkit Indonesia Vaccination Center. Because this activity is very helpful for Pemko Medan in realizing the target of 1.9 million to vaccinate residents as well as establish herd immunity.
