Initially Treated At The Polyclinic, Tangerang Prison Fire Victims With Broken Legs And Burns Were Taken To RSUD
TANGERANG - Inmates injured as a result of a fire incident at the Class I Correctional Institution (Lapas) Tangerang, Banten who were being treated at the Tangerang Regency General Hospital (RSUD) increased by two people.
Head of the Publication and Information Law Installation (HPI) at the Tangerang District Hospital, Hilwani, said the two victims had previously received treatment at the Class 1 Tangerang Lapas Polyclinic.
"Previously there were eight people, but earlier there were only two more and now 10 people are undergoing treatment," he said, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, September 8.
He explained that from the addition of the two victims, their condition suffered minor and moderate injuries, including burns of 25 percent and no trauma to their respiratory tract.
Then, there were also patients who suffered lacerations and broken bones in their legs as a result of jumping over a two-meter high wall.
"So it can be said that these two additional patients are in mild or moderate condition," he explained.
Hilwani said that currently, of the eight victims who had previously received treatment at the Tangerang District Hospital, they were still receiving intensive treatment from medical officers.
"But two of them are currently getting better, namely for those with burns 30 percent. Meanwhile, those above 30 percent to 98 percent with airway trauma are still under close monitoring," he added.
Previously, the Tangerang District Hospital had treated 8 people who suffered serious injuries from the victims of the Tangerang Class I prison fire.
Those who were treated suffered burns with conditions up to 20 percent to 90 percent. Meanwhile, the complaints experienced by patients are on average serious injuries and respiratory problems caused by smoke from the fire.
In addition, the fire incident in Tangerang prison also left 41 people dead and 8 seriously injured and 72 others lightly injured.
