Reasons Why DKI DPRD Members Have Not Reported 2020 LHKPN: Wealth Is The Same As Last Year, No New Income
JAKARTA - Plt. Secretary of the DKI DPRD Augustinus explained the reason why a number of DPRD members had not submitted the 2020 state administrator wealth report (LHKPN).
This is in response to the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) which stated that there are still 62 percent of DKI DPRD members who have submitted LHKPN.
Augustinus explained that DPRD members who have not submitted LHKPN do not mean they are lazy. However, they claim that their wealth has not increased. So, the nominal wealth is the same as last year's LHKPN.
"It's not that they're lazy. They feel that they've had enough last year. They admit that they don't have any new income, saying 'My salary runs out every month, what do you want to buy?' so," said Augustine when contacted, Wednesday, September 8.
Then, another reason DKI DPRD members have not reported the LHKPN is because they forgot. So, they are not unwilling to submit the LHKPN renewal.
"They really want to report, but it seems they forgot. It's not because they don't want to report. There's no point in them not reporting," said Augustinus.
Therefore, Augustinus said that the Secretariat of the DKI DPRD had followed up by sending a letter to members of the DKI DPRD to submit the LHKPN to the KPK. In fact, the Chairman of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, Prasetio Edi Marsudi, also reminded his colleagues in the council to submit the LHKPN to the anti-corruption agency.
“We have conveyed it by letter, but it seems we have to go door to door (go directly). If they forget the letter, they don't read it," he said.
Previously, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) said that there were 6 Provincial DPRDs whose LHKPN submissions were still below 75 percent.
Deputy for Prevention and Monitoring of the KPK Pahala Nainggolan said that these 6 provincial DPRD even have good internet access and even adequate human resources (HR) for reporting. It's just that, in fact, the wealth reports of these legislators are still below the minimum number.
The six provincial DPRDs are West Papua with 53 percent, Aceh with 53 percent, West Kalimantan with 58 percent, Central Sulawesi with 60 percent, DKI Jakarta with 62 percent, and Papua with 75 percent.
"This surprised us that DKI Jakarta is only 62 percent (reporting the LHKPN, ed)," said Pahala.
