Prosecutors Demand Drug Dealers In Denpasar Sentenced To 15 Years In Prison

DENPASAR - The public prosecutor (JPU) in a trial at the Denpasar District Court, Bali, charged a drug dealer named Hendra Prastia Febri Jalani (36) with a sentence of 15 years in prison.

"Demanding, imposing a sentence on the defendant with a prison sentence of 15 years reduced entirely while the defendant is in custody, with an order that the defendant remains in custody and a fine of Rp. Denpasar quoted by Antara, Tuesday, September 7.

The prosecutor said the defendant was found guilty of committing a crime without rights or against the law of accepting, being an intermediary in buying and selling, or delivering narcotics class I not in the form of plants, as regulated and threatened with crime in Article 114 paragraph (2) of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics. according to the prosecution's first indictment.

There was also evidence obtained from the defendant in the form of four plastic clips of crystal methamphetamine with a total weight of 149.2 grams net and 222 pills of ecstasy with a net weight of 90.82 grams.

The prosecutor explained that on Tuesday, May 4, 2021, Denpasar Police investigators obtained information that the defendant lived on Jalan Batu Paras, Gang Baladewa No. 7 Banjar Batu Paras, Padang Sambian Kaja Village, North Denpasar District, Denpasar City often distribute drugs.

In the evening after conducting surveillance, the defendant was immediately arrested at his place of residence when the defendant returned, allegedly after selling drugs.

Furthermore, Denpasar Police investigators examined the defendant's device and found evidence of a conversation on the telegram application with his boss named OM (DPO) about drug transactions.

"The defendant admitted that he still kept drugs in the form of methamphetamine and ecstasy in his other boarding house at Jalan Tegal Dukuh Selatan No. IX (Room No. 2), Banjar Penamparan, Padang Sambian Village, West Denpasar District, Denpasar City," said the prosecutor.

All of the evidence in the form of ecstasy and methamphetamine was admitted by the defendant to belong to his boss, OM. The prosecutor explained that the defendant only acted as a courier or intermediary in the sale and purchase of narcotics between OM and the buyer.

From the results of this work, the defendant only received a wage of Rp. 50,000, for each time he placed or stuck the drugs in a location determined by the OM.
