DKI Provincial Government Supports Night Without Crowds On Weekends
JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government supports Polda Metro Jaya who plans to implement a crowd free night on weekends to guard PPKM Level 3 in the Capital City.
"I think it's good for the areas of Jalan Thamrin, Kemang, SCBD and Asia Africa," said Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Ahmad Riza Patria at City Hall, quoted by Antara on Tuesday, September 7.
According to him, community mobility is expected to increase in line with the loosening of PPKM Level 3 regulations in Jakarta.
For this reason, he hopes that this step can prevent crowds of people at the four points, especially on weekends.
"The easing of mobility is certainly getting higher because of the opening of cafes, restaurants. On certain nights we will close the road, on Friday nights, Saturday nights and Sunday nights," he said.
The Traffic Directorate of Polda Metro Jaya revealed that the "crowd free night" will be implemented every Friday-Sunday night in Jakarta in two stages, starting at 22.00-24.00 WIB and at 24.00-04.00 WIB.
Traffic Director of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Pol Sambodo Purnomo Yogo explained that at 22.00-24.00 WIB, vehicles were still allowed to pass.
However, if a community or group is found that has the potential to cause a crowd, the group will be intercepted and turned back.
Meanwhile, at 24.00-04.00 WIB, Polda Metro Jaya will apply full filtering in the four areas.
"The strict filtering that we allow to pass is only emergency vehicles, hotel guests and people who live or residents in the area," he said.
After strict filtering is applied, officers will patrol to disperse crowds at crowded points.
In addition, insulation is to prevent unauthorized persons from entering areas that are prone to crowding.
