Jokowi Happy Vaccination Of Residents In Blitar Reaches 76 Percent
JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) expressed his appreciation to the people of Blitar City, East Java for their enthusiasm for participating in the COVID-19 vaccination program.
This appreciation was conveyed by Jokowi while reviewing the implementation of the COVID-19 vaccination for the community, at the Tourism and Trade Information Center (PIPP) Blitar City, East Java (East Java), Tuesday, September 7
"I want to express my deepest gratitude to the people who have been very enthusiastic about getting vaccinated," said Jokowi as quoted by Antara, Tuesday, September 7.
According to the President, public awareness to get vaccinated is very important, considering that COVID-19 cannot completely disappear from human life.
Jokowi also supports local governments to continue to meet vaccination targets.
"I am happy because earlier, Mr. Mayor, Mr. Deputy Mayor, informed that 76 percent of those who have been vaccinated have been vaccinated, meaning that there are indeed only a few who have not been vaccinated," said the President.
President Jokowi also did not forget to remind the public to continue to implement strict health protocols.
According to him, the many new variants of the Corona virus that have emerged require the public to remain vigilant and not be careless about the spread of COVID-19.
"All of us must speed up the vaccination process and adhere to health protocols," said the President.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Blitar City Health Office, Dr Muhammad Muchlis, also invited the people of Blitar City and its surroundings to work together to make the COVID-19 vaccination program a success.
"Let's carry out vaccinations happily, willingly, take care of ourselves, take care of health, maintain health protocols," said Dr Muhammad Muchlis.
Accompanying President Jokowi in the review were the Minister of Public Works and Public Housing Basuki Hadimuljono, National Police Chief Gen. Pol Listyo Sigit Prabowo, East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa, Blitar Mayor Santoso, and Blitar Deputy Mayor Tjutjuk Sunario.
