Ganjar Pranowo's Story Collaborating With KPK: Locking Doors And 'Forcing' Central Java DPRD Members To Fill In LHKPN
JAKARTA - Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo said many state civil servants (ASN) in the Central Java Provincial Government were frightened when asked to report their assets. This fear was revealed when he took office in 2014.
At that time, there were still many ASNs who were required to report their assets and were afraid to do so. Thus, the PDI-P politician consulted with the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).
"I asked the KPK. Where do you think the difficulty of this LHKPN is," said Ganjar, starting his story in a discussion broadcast on the Indonesian KPK YouTube, Tuesday, September 7.
Furthermore, he heard an answer from the KPK that ASNs were often afraid to write down where their wealth came from.
"Apparently, our fear is to write down our cellphones that people have given us, how to report Harley that I got from this person. Wow, no one dares to fill in," said Ganjar repeating the fears of ASN in his government environment.
Thus, he asked the anti-corruption commission to provide an explanation regarding filling out the LHKPN to officials within his government. At that time, said Ganjar, the KPK only asked the regional officials to fill in the report as it was.
"Just write it down as it is. Don't be afraid because of what. Because no one has been arrested by the KPK because of the LHKPN report," he said.
Furthermore, Ganjar also has an interesting experience in forcing DPRD members in the Central Java Provincial Government to fill out LHKPN.
At that time, said Ganjar, in collaboration with the leadership of the Central Java Provincial DPRD to gather DPRD members somewhere in the Solo area. "Again, I borrowed the KPK," said Ganjar.
"Then the KPK came, the DPRD came, we met and at that time we locked the door. (I said, ed) behind it was a laptop. Yesterday you were asked to bring a record of your assets and we will have a workshop together. You understand, ladies and gentlemen After my welcome, I went home first and no DPRD members were allowed to leave the room before filling it in," he added.
After this incident, of course, the level of property reports of the Central Java Provincial DPRD to 100 percent. However, this reporting compliance not only happened because of coercion but because awareness began to grow.
"From here, this triggers the next generation if they don't feel ashamed or are chased by the inspectorate. So everyone doesn't remind me while joking," concluded Ganjar with a laugh.
