Suspicion Of The Probolinggo Regent Puput Not Only Selling The Position Of Village Head, KPK Chair Firli: We're Asking What Is The Fee For The Camat Position
JAKARTA - Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Firli Bahuri suspects that the Regent of Probolinggo Puput Tantriana Sari often conducts buying and selling positions in his area. He even suspects that the practice of buying and selling positions is not only targeting village heads but also other public positions.
"Just imagine that temporary village heads are being sold and bought. Of course, we ask how much the rates for sub-district heads, school principals, service heads, regional secretaries and other public positions in the Probolinggo Regency Government are," Firli said in a written statement to reporters, Tuesday, September 7.
However, this assumption still has to be further proven. For now, they are still looking for evidence.
Furthermore, Firli regrets that the practice of buying and selling positions has occurred in the Probolinggo Regency Government. According to him, if this practice continues, the area will not progress because it does not receive the best service.
"In this case, don't expect the people to get services. We also can't expect a lot of people's welfare to increase," said the former Deputy for Enforcement of the KPK.
Previously reported, the KPK has named 22 suspects consisting of 4 bribe recipients and 18 givers in the case of buying and selling village head positions. Currently, all suspects have been detained in different detention centers.
