Police Asked To Move Fast In Explosion Case In Menteng
JAKARTA - Investigations on the explosion incident that occurred in the Menteng area, Central Jakarta, have not yet found a bright spot. Police are still looking for information and clues to reveal the motive behind the explosion.
Apart from the police investigation, several possible motives for the explosion emerged. Starting from acts of terror to work accidents.
Criminal Law Observer from Al Azhar University, Suparji Ahmad said, the possibility of acts of terror appeared based on the background of the owner of the car or house closest to the scene. Because, based on the temporary police statement, this person is a businessman.
"Indeed, it is not entirely an act of terror because there is no evidence that shows terrorism. However, further investigation is needed to prove this allegation," said Suparji, Monday, July 6.
Then, other allegations are related to work accidents. In fact, the incident was caused by a mismanagement of something. So, objects or other things that should go well explode.
However, this is still a provisional conjecture. So, to prove it, there must be strong evidence and guidance.
"Yes, maybe it happened because an explosion incident that was unwanted exploded but actually exploded," said Suparji.
Furthermore, he said, the police must immediately uncover the case. The aim is to prevent other allegations that will actually have an impact on community unrest.
"Law enforcement officials must act quickly so as not to cause polemics and various speculations," concluded Suparji.
Police InvestigationCentral Jakarta Metro Police Chief, Kombes Heru Novianto said that he could not yet confirm whether the explosion came from a homemade bomb or not. He said, after the results of the investigation were known, it would be announced to the public.
"We will still wait for the results of the crime scene from the forensic laboratory, tomorrow maybe it will come out," he said.
He said the explosion was not that big. So that there are no casualties or injuries from this explosion. Currently, the blast site is sterile or cleaned.
"The only loss is a flat tire of the Pajero car. The position of the car is on the side of the road, we do not know who the target is. We are still investigating it. We are still gathering witnesses and we are still conducting investigations, whether there is a connection with witnesses around the scene," he said.
Regarding whether this incident was related to a terrorist act or not, he also could not confirm. However, he said, terrorist acts usually seek victims and endanger people around them. Meanwhile, this explosion was not too big and there were no casualties. However, the investigation into allegations of terrorist acts is still being explored.
"Terrorists are usually always looking for victims and the material is usually dangerous to the people around them. If we see that there is no casualty impact, whether humans, only physical car tires. It's still a long way. For terrorists, we have not concluded and need deepening," he said.
