Holywings Kemang's Desperation Leads To Freezing Of Operation Permits During The Pandemic

JAKARTA - The sanction of freezing the operating license for Holywings Kemang, South Jakarta may be able to deter the cafe management. Because this hangout place for young people has repeatedly been sanctioned, but they are still stubborn in violating health protocols.

After the officers discovered that there was a violation of health protocols on Saturday, September 4, 2021, the officers immediately dispersed the visitors. The next day, Sunday, September 5, Satpol PP imposed a temporary closure of Holywings Kemang for 3x24 hours.

However, last night, the DKI Provincial Government turned out to have aggravated Holywings Kemang's sanctions by freezing its business license while the COVID-19 pandemic was still ongoing.

"We will impose sanctions on the Holywings restaurant on Jalan Kemang Raya, Bangka Village, Mampang Prapatan District, in the form of a temporary suspension of permits during the COVID-19 pandemic, during the PPKM period," said DKI Satpol PP Head Arifin, Monday, September 6.

"Yes, during the pandemic," Arifin confirmed.

Arifin explained the reason why his party did not immediately freeze Holywings Kemang's business license when it sanctioned the temporary closure on Sunday, September 5.

He said the DKI Provincial Government must prepare administrative files for business freezes. The provincial government is also tracing the history of violations of the Holywings Kemang health protocol.

"We need to prepare administration related to controlling the sanctions. The supervision carried out by Satpol PP is at all levels in the sub-district, in the city, in the province, and at all levels," explained Arifin.

Apparently, the cafe has violated three times. In February 2021, Holywings Kemang for the first time violated the prokes and was sanctioned by the Satpol PP of Mampang Prapatan District.

Then, the violation was carried out again in March 2021 and has also been sanctioned by the South Jakarta Satpol PP. Finally, the violation was carried out on Saturday, September 4th which resulted in the suspension of the permit.

"This afternoon we conducted an evaluation to try to find data regarding the extent of the violations that Holywings had committed. It turned out that in February and March there were violations and they have been dealt with," he explained.

In addition, Holywings Kemang was also subject to a fine of Rp. 50 million. This is stated in DKI Governor Regulation Number 3 of 2021.
