Bogor Regent Warns Residents Around The Cidurian River To Be Alert

BOGOR - The Regent of Bogor, West Java, Ade Yasin warned residents around the Cidurian River, especially the western area of Bogor Regency, West Java, to always be vigilant after the flash flood occurred on Monday, September 6 evening.

"Let's increase our vigilance, amid the intensity of the heavy rain, and don't forget to keep praying," he said in Cibinong, Bogor Regency, Tuesday, September 7 in the morning.

Ade Yasin admitted that he had deployed troops to carry out first aid, and appealed to the people around the river to evacuate temporarily.

"I have instructed the sub-district head, BPBD, Tagana, Linmas, and related agencies to go to the field to provide first aid, check and directly monitor developments that occur," he said.

The Bogor Regent has also instructed the Bogor Rapid Movement (Gercep) team to provide basic necessities to residents affected by the disaster.

Meanwhile, the Bogor Regency Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) stated that the Cidurian River overflow incident on Monday evening resulted in the collapse of a bridge and damage to dozens of residents' houses.

Head of the Emergency Section for BPBD Bogor Regency, Adam Hamdani, when contacted, said that the flash floods caused damage to infrastructure in four sub-districts, namely Cigudeg, Nanggung, Jasinga, and Sukajaya.

"There are also 50 students and teachers at Ponpes Darussalam isolated because the main bridge that spans the Cidurian River is carried away by the current. Currently the TRC team is trying to get in there," he said.
