Jokowi Immediately To North Kalimantan, Governor Zainal Paliwang Ensures Welcoming Readiness
TARAKAN - Governor of North Kalimantan (Kaltara) Zainal Arifin Paliwang said that preparations for President Joko Widodo's visit to Kaltara had reached 70 percent.
"Alhamdulillah, preparations in the field have reached around 70 percent, but the most important thing is the security issue when the President arrives," he said in Tanjung Selor, Bulungan Regency, in a statement received in Tarakan City, Monday, September 6.
While in Kaltara, the President plans to lay the first stone for the construction of the International Industrial and Port Area (KIPI) in Tanah Kuning-Mangkupadi, Bulungan, Kaltara starting at the end of October 2021.
To welcome the President's working visit to Kaltara, he said, the North Kalimantan Provincial Government formed a committee. Likewise from the Presidential Palace, there will be a committee formed to regulate all the activities of the President in Kaltara.
"The provincial government only provides support, so where the President lands, wants to go anywhere and carry out any activities while in Kaltara, the central government will regulate it," he said.
The governor said that recently he had also met directly with the East Tanjung Palas sub-district head to review the locations the President would visit, including determining the landing point of the helicopter used by the President's entourage.
"But we don't know yet, whether the President landed in Tarakan directly by helicopter to Tanah Kuning, or landed first to Tanjung Selor and then continued to Tanah Kuning," he said.
When asked about the progress of KIPI development during the President's visit, the Governor confirmed that so far there have been five companies owning land in the KIPI area.
Each of these companies will be responsible for the development and management of their respective lands.
"What is clear is that five companies are ready at KIPI, we hope that after the groundbreaking by the President, development at KIPI will be able to run," said Zainal Arifin Paliwang.
