Bali Still Level 4, Malls Will Open With Restrictions

JAKARTA - Bali is still implementing PPKM level 4. But the good news is that malls will be opened with certain restrictions.

“Bali still needs one week to go down to level 3 from level 4 due to the high hospitalization rate. I have communicated it to the governor of Bali,” said Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs Luhut Pandjaitan, Monday, September 6.

But the government decided to open a mall/shopping center in Bali. Trials were carried out regarding health protocols and the use of PeduliLindung.

"We will test the health protocol and Care Protect for malls and shopping centers in Bali with certain limitations," said Luhut Pandjaitan.

In the extension of the Java-Bali PPKM, Luhut said a number of regions experienced a decline in the PPKM assessment level.

"The situation for the development of COVID-19 in Java-Bali continues to experience significant improvements. This is marked by the number of cities/districts at level 4," he said.

Luhut explained that currently the Java-Bali regencies/cities that are at Level 4 are 11 regions with previously 254 regencies/cities.

A significant increase occurred at level 2 where the number increased from the previous 27 districts/cities to 43 districts/cities. Then, DI Yogyakarta experienced a decrease in the level of assessment from level 4 to level 3.

"Along with the condition of the COVID-19 situation that is getting better and the implementation of health protocols and the use of PeduliLindung that continue to run, there are several adjustments to community activities that can be made during the September 7-13 period," Luhut said.

First, adjusting the time to eat or dine-in in the mall to 60 minutes with a capacity of 50 percent. Second, there will be a trial opening of 20 tourist attractions in the city with level 3 with the implementation of strict health protocols and the implementation of the PeduliLindung platform.

"And level 2 regencies/cities will also be required to use PeduliLindungi at tourist attractions that have been allowed to open," Luhut continued.
