Met By Reza Rahadian Et Al At The Palace, Jokowi Will Provide Incentives For The Country's Film Industry

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo received the arrival of the Indonesian Film Festival Committee (FFI). A number of parties who attended to meet Jokowi were Reza Rahadian as Chairman of the FFI Committee and Chairman of the FFI Committee for Judging Sector Garin Nugroho.

During the meeting, Jokowi said that the government would provide incentives to support the sustainability of the Indonesian film industry during the pandemic.

"The president provides incentive assistance through the Ministry of Finance to provide assistance or intensive capital production in the Indonesian film productivity scheme to face this challenging era," said Garin Nugroho on the Presidential Secretariat's Youtube show, Monday, September 6.

Garin said that this incentive was given by the government so that the Indonesian film industry could remain productive even though it was affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. However, President Jokowi emphasized two things, namely discipline in implementing health protocols and productivity.

"These two things are the emphasis of the President, if both community discipline and productivity go hand in hand, then this post-pandemic revival will go well," said Garin. Continuing, Reza Rahadian said that the FFI Committee also came with an invitation to Jokowi to attend the 2021 FFI award night on November 10.

Reza hopes that Jokowi's presence on the peak night of the 2021 FFI award will increase the optimism of Indonesian filmmakers to continue to advance and grow even in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Mr. (Jokowi)'s willingness to come as full support for the rise (of the film industry). Because this will be a hope for all filmmakers or the art world in particular," said Reza.
