KPU Take Down Jokowi's NIK On The Election Site
JAKARTA - Chairman of the General Elections Commission (KPU) Ilham Saputra admitted that his party had closed President Joko Widodo's data, including the population identification number (NIK) on the election site.
This is in response to the problem of the spread of Jokowi's NIK, so that many people were able to trace their vaccination certificates through the PeduliLindung application.
"(Jokowi's NIK) has been taken down. We have taken it down," Ilham said when met at the DPR RI complex, Monday, September 6.
Although he has closed access to Jokowi's data from the public, Ilham emphasized that the publication of Jokowi's identity is not a data leak.
"I don't think (data leaked)," he said.
Ilham continued, the display of Jokowi's NIK on the election management website is a form of publication of presidential candidates. Of course, the publication has received Jokowi's approval when he nominated the president in the 2019 election.
"We did technical things related to the nomination. The nomination was indeed through the approval of the candidate (president) to be published. So, the writing was already approved by the candidates, at that time Pak Jokowi and Pak Prabowo," he explained.
Previously, Jokowi's NIK was spread on social media, so that netizens could search for Jokowi's vaccination certificate through the PeduliLindung application. Then, the vaccination certificates that can be downloaded are also spread on social media.
It turns out that the site that publishes Jokowi's NIK is the official website of the General Elections Commission (KPU). If you type "NIK Joko Widodo" in the search engine, the site infopemilu2.kpu.go.id displays Jokowi's NIK.
After the circulation of Jokowi's vaccination certificate, the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) immediately closed the personal data of state officials, especially Jokowi, so that they could no longer be accessed by the public.
