COVID-19 Update As Of July 5: 1,607 Positive, 552 People From East Java

JAKARTA - The addition of positive cases of COVID-19 in East Java (Jatim) is still high. Today alone, there are 552 positive cases in the province led by Khofifah Indar Parawansa. Yesterday, there were 413 positive cases in East Java.

This was conveyed by the government spokesman for handling COVID-19, Achmad Yurianto when describing the development of the COVID-19 case. Meanwhile, the national cases, he said, have reached 1,607 positive cases today. This number is from 21,054 specimens examined throughout Indonesia.

"East Java added 552 new confirmed cases and also reported 154 cured cases," said Yuri at Graha BNPB, Jakarta, Sunday, July 5.

Then followed by DKI Jakarta, Central Java and South Sulawesi. These three provinces also experienced a significant increase in cases.

Meanwhile, 18 Provinces only reported additional cases below the number 10. Then, 7 Provinces where there were no additional cases were Aceh, North Kalimantan, Central Sulawesi, North Maluku, West Sulawesi, NTT, and Gorontalo.

With the existence of several areas with minimal positive cases, the number of recovered cases is quite large. If you refer to existing data, around 886 people are declared cured nationally.

"As many as 886 cases recovered were reported. So that the total was 29,105 recovered," said Yuri.

Yuri claims, not all positive people have to undergo treatment at the hospital. In fact, he firmly believes that most of the positive cases show only mild symptoms.

"Some of these positive cases actually did not show the symptoms indicated to be hospitalized. Therefore, the most appropriate step to handle this case is to carry out strict independent isolation," said Yuri.

Then, today 82 people were recorded as having died from this virus. So that a total of 3,171 people were killed due to the corona virus.

"If we look at the national death rate, our figure is at 5 percent. This is relatively higher than the world average which currently reaches 4.72 percent," said Yuri.

Since this case was discovered, at least 453 districts / cities in 34 provinces have been affected. In addition, the number of patients under surveillance (PDP) and people under surveillance (ODP) is still increasing every day.

"Then closely monitoring, the 39,928 ODP people we suspect have had close contact with positive cases. And we must also pursue to confirm whether the patients we treat with COVID-19 symptoms also become confirmed positive cases or not. We are familiar with 13,767 PDPs. people, "Yuri said.
