PAN Legislators Urge Government To Speed Up Approval Of PDP Bill With DPR

JAKARTA - A member of the PAN faction of the DPR, Guspardi Gaus, urged the government and the DPR to immediately complete and ratify the Personal Data Protection Bill (PDP).

He considered this important, given the frequent data leaks until President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) vaccine certificate data burst to the public.

"The government must speed up the ratification of the Personal Data Protection Bill (PDP), which has actually been discussed with the DPR for a long time," said Guspardi to reporters, Monday, August 6.

This member of the DPR Baleg also asked the security forces to conduct an investigation and resolve who was responsible and who took the President's NIK data until it was leaked to the public.

"The perpetrators must be held accountable from a legal perspective. And it is revealed whether there is any form of data theft or other motives behind it. If an irresponsible policy falls, it is very likely to be misused," said the member of Commission II of the DPR. It is known, President Joko Widodo's (Jokowi) Employment Identification Number (NIK) was leaked in cyberspace after the COVID-19 vaccine. The leak of Jokowi's NIK has been in the spotlight of many circles. The reason is, NIK is personal data and Jokowi is the number one person in Indonesia.
