Remember The Pedophilia Case, DPR Supports Boycott Of Saipul Jamil On Television
JAKARTA - Member of the House of Representatives Commission I, Muhammad Farhan, expressed concern over the euphoria of the release of the dancer Saipul Jamil (SJ), who is a former convict or pedophile, and was greeted with great fanfare. Meanwhile, no one tried to "look" at the post-traumatic condition of the victim.
"As a member of Commission I, according to my authority and field of work, I have asked the Central KPI to ask all national broadcasters not to broadcast, let alone bind a work contract with SJ, who is a pedophile," said Farhan to reporters, Monday, August 6.
According to the NasDem politician, the invitation to boycott SJ from the community deserves to be positively welcomed and supported. Because according to Farhan, this attitude shows that some people have shown awareness and alignment with efforts to uphold justice in cases of violence or sexual harassment.
"It's time for us as a nation to strengthen our strong support to immediately enact the Sexual Violence Draft Law which regulates efforts to prevent, overcome, take action, foster and rehabilitate cases of sexual harassment and violence," he said.
