SURABAYA - A total of 15 public and private junior high schools (SMP) in the city of Surabaya, East Java, began to carry out face-to-face learning (PTM) on a limited basis on Monday, September 6

"My children, who are currently PTM, make school as comfortable as possible," said the Chairman of Commission D for Education at the Surabaya DPRD, Khusnul Khotimah, when he advised junior high school students who were undergoing PTM today, reported by Antara.

The 15 junior high schools that carried out PTM based on the @Banggasurabaya Instagram account, the 15 junior high schools were 11 public junior high schools namely SMPN 1, SMPN 2, SMPN 3, SMPN 10, SMPN 12, SMPN 15, SMPN 19, SMPN 26, SMPN 28, SMPN 46, SMPN 62. Meanwhile, other private junior high schools are SMP YBPK 1, SMP 17 August, SMP GIKI 2 and SMP Santa Maria Surabaya.

Khusnul advised various parties, especially the school, so that PTM could be carried out properly. Because unexpected things can happen.

"Still don't ignore it. They are still children, so they must remain under supervision," said Khusnul.

According to him, because this is the first school after nearly two years of being stopped, the condition that needs to be anticipated is traffic jams in the school environment. Parents who have brought their children should immediately die, there is no need to wait and see their children enter school.

"Everyone must maintain order and comfort for road users. Parents must believe and leave everything to the educators and education staff. The implementation of this PTM has gone through a long process before it is held," he said.

For the students, he advised that before leaving for school they should have breakfast at home. Then bring supplies including drinking bottles from home, wear masks, bring hand sanitizer and don't be late.

"Don't create a crowd. Use hand sanitizer often and never take off your mask. Don't miss school, miss friends, ignore health protocols," he said.

After school, he continued, all students must go straight home to their respective homes. You are not allowed to stop by anywhere, including stopping at a friend's house. "When I get home, I immediately change my clothes and clean myself like taking a shower," he said. There are several requirements that must be met in order for schools to be able to organize PTM, namely teachers must have received two doses of vaccine and students must have approval from the student's guardian or parents.

Other requirements include submitting school readiness (facilities, infrastructure, administration) to the Surabaya Dispendik, passing an assessment from the Surabaya COVID-19 Task Force, having carried out a PTM simulation, and receiving recommendations from the Surabaya Dispendik.

In relation to this PTM, the school already has a COVID-19 Task Force Student Team. This team was inaugurated by the Mayor of Surabaya, Eri Cahyadi, last Friday (3/9).

Head of the Surabaya Dispendik Supomo said that the COVID-19 Task Force Student Team were selected UKS cadre students who had received training from experts so that they had knowledge and insight about the importance of maintaining health protocols during the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to him, 457 COVID Task Force Student Teams have been formed from various public and private elementary and junior high schools throughout the city of Surabaya. Of the 457 teams the number of students who joined in it reached 5,425 children.
