Returning To The Koran Together, Dozens Of Cikampek Residents Are Poisoned

KARAWANG – After attending a recitation, dozens of residents of North Cikampek Village, Kotabaru District, Karawang Regency, West Java, suffered from food poisoning.

"Yes, there are 21 people who came to the Kotabaru Health Center. They are suspected of having food poisoning," said Head of the Kotabaru Health Center, Sari Ali Astuti, in Karawang, to reporters on Saturday 4.

He said that currently most of the residents who went to the Puskesmas had returned to their respective homes because their conditions had improved.

Now there are a number of residents who are still being treated at the Puskesmas. They may have to be hospitalized.

The initial symptoms of those suspected of having food poisoning were vomiting, frequent defecation. Some even experience stomach cramps.

Sari said that initially dozens of victims of food poisoning were taken to the North Cikampek Health Center.

However, because at the North Cikampek Health Center there is no inpatient service, they were taken to the Kotabaru Health Center for intensive care until some were hospitalized.

In their service, most residents are given assistance in the form of intravenous fluids. In addition, some are given ORS.

"We are worried that someone may be severely dehydrated, so we do help by giving intravenous fluids," he said.
