Assessed As Damaging The Beauty Of The City, Bogor City Government Restricts Making Graffiti
BOGOR – Residents of Bogor, West Java who have a talent and hobby of painting seem to have lost an open space to convey messages through graffiti in open spaces. The reason is that the Bogor City government through Dispermukim began to supervise and rearrange by cleaning the murals that are often found in public spaces.
Deputy Mayor of Bogor Dedie A Rachim and Head of the Department of Housing and Settlements (Disperumkim), Juniarti Estiningsih, gave full attention to activities which they considered to be destroying the beauty of the city of Bogor.
According to Dedie, so far many residents, both groups and individuals, have artistic talent but do not have the media.
"They use public facilities, which then destroy the beauty of the city," said Deputy Mayor of Bogor Dedie A Rachim, citing Antara, Saturday, September 4.
The policy was initiated by the activity of removing graffiti on Jalan Raya Sholeh Iskandar.
"Graffiti cleaning will be carried out in stages until the end of this year, so that in the future there will be no more people who have the talent and hobby of making graffiti. No more doodling everywhere," he said.
According to him, the Bogor City Government has facilitated residents who have a talent or hobby of graffiti by providing a Graffiti Park near Sempur field.
"In the Graffiti Park, it can be used to create creativity," he added.
Still, said Dedie, the relevant agencies in the city of Bogor can also make special activities that accommodate the creativity of graffiti makers, to create images with certain themes.
The Bogor City Government, he said, is currently cleaning the murals scattered in public spaces.
Later when it is clean, try to find alternative activities by inviting those who have a hobby of making graffiti to officially participate in giving moral messages to the community.
"The theme could be COVID-19, education, arts and culture, or sports," said Dedie.
