Civilians Killed By Shot In Gardens, Police Make Sure The Perpetrators Are Not Among Law Enforcement Officials
BENGKULU – The police identified the perpetrators of the shooting of residents in Seluma Regency, Bengkulu. The Head of Public Relations of the Bengkulu Police, Kombes Pol. Sudarno, said that the perpetrators were not known to be law enforcement officers, but ordinary civilians.
"We have all the identities of the perpetrators in our pockets. The alleged perpetrator and victim live in the same village and now the police are hunting for the perpetrator, who after shooting the victim immediately fled," said Sudarno quoting Antara, Saturday, September 4.
However, said Sudarno, his party could not confirm whether the firearms used by the perpetrators were homemade or not. However, the police confirmed that the alleged perpetrators were not law enforcement officers, but ordinary civilians.
"It is not known what type of weapon the perpetrators have yet been arrested. The motive for shooting the victim is also unknown. Later, the police are still pursuing them," said Sudarno.
Police have asked for information from several people who were in the vicinity of the scene. However, the police have not taken any information from the victim's family, considering the family is in a state of mourning.
Previously, Winarso (55), a resident of Padang Kuas Village, Sukaraja District, Seluma Regency, Bengkulu, died after being shot by a young man using a firearm in a garden not far from the village on Saturday, September 4 at around 11 am.
The victim died at the scene after the hot lead from a firearm fired by the perpetrator penetrated his body.
The victim's body was then taken to the Graha Medika Hospital in Bengkulu City by local residents.
"So after hearing the sound of gunfire, there were residents who immediately went to the victim's garden and found the victim was covered in blood. They then took the victim to the hospital using a pick-up car," said Sudarno.
