Looking For The Best Novels, Webtoons, And Cover Designs To Get A Prize Of IDR 500 Million

JAKARTA - Repeating last year's success, Kwikku again held a Novel and Webtoon Competition with a total prize of 500 million rupiah. Unlike the previous year, which only consisted of two categories, namely Novels and Webtoons, at this event, Kwikku added one more category to enliven the competition, namely Design Cover.

Kwikku, is a social storytelling that brings together writers and webtoon creators with readers in the form of social media. Like its mission to provide quality and quality content to everyone and provide the best space for creators.

With the title #Pasti BisaBerkaya, Kwikku believes that creativity can come from anywhere, by anyone, and under any conditions. "We believe that in the midst of limited space for movement due to the ongoing pandemic, this still does not dampen our enthusiasm to produce works that are full of quality," said Hamdi Musaad as CEO of Kwikku.

In addition to the prizes worth a total of 500 million rupiah, the scripts of the winners (1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners) also had the opportunity to be turned into films. In organizing this competition, Kwikku collaborates with 10 professionals in their fields who will be the judges to find the best works from the works that have passed for evaluation.

For the novel category, there are Dee Lestari, A. Fuadi, Agustinus Wibowo, Rintik Sedu, and Erisca Febriani. Meanwhile, for the webtoon category, there will be Sweta Kartika, Chris Lie, Olvyanda, Krisanti, and Faza Meonk. "This competition was held last year and produced cool works," said A Fuadi, the judge of the competition for the novel category in a virtual press release, Saturday, September 4.

"For fiction fans, novelists, this is the time to show off your skills, submit your best work," said Dee Lestari, the judge of the competition for the novel category.

“Looking at the very rapid development of the internet, the potential for digital works in Indonesia is automatically also getting bigger. We got involved in building a Digital Creative Hub platform, which allows creators to create the best work for everyone in creative metavers,” he continued.

“To find young comic artists (creators) with interesting qualities, of course a competition like this can be an effective step. The only challenge is how Kwikku can absorb this potential in a direction that advances the comic industry," said Faza Meonk, the competition judge for the webtoon category.

In addition to its effectiveness in finding young creators, this competition is an ever-present lighter. “It must be provoked first so that the talent comes out. The challenge today is competition. Because there are more and more media that accommodate works. It's just a matter of how each creator presents their uniqueness and different values in order to stand out," said Sweta Kartika, the competition judge for the webtoon category.
